fail.

So I have to really work on this whole willpower thing. Thanks to my lovely friends, I was swayed to purchase another pair of shoes. I got the boots that I mentioned previously, and have been wearing them lots - at least that's good. New looks coming up soon...I think.

dilemma

In my last post, I talked about my new boots - but I don't think I covered the slight dilemma that I had while purchasing them. I actually tried on another pair as well, and I couldn't make a decision as to whether or not I wanted to purchase them. Both pairs are relatively expensive so I decided to sit on the second pair. I still haven't come to a decision and it's been more than a week. I've been looking for a pair of flat ankle boots. These are the ones I tried on. I've gone back to look at it several times. Do they look too "manly"? Although, I think that that may be a good thing as it will be something different to add to my boot collection. Also, since I've had a bit of skirt frenzy these last few weeks I feel like something it would be awesome to have something contrast the girl-iness of my outfits. Opinions?

Back to getting work done...at a very slow pace.

reminder

If you like the outfits, go to my lookbook page and hype them - i think my hype buttons are feeling lonely.

shoes

So some of my friends have mentioned to me that I haven't updated in a while. Let's blame this on a lack of equipment and motivation. While sitting at home today, waiting for something interesting to happen, I decided I should probably show off my new shoes. So here it goes...

My new shoes from Aldo - they were expensive. =( Don't mind my very scratched up apartment floor. So I decided that I had to wear them today and this is what I went to class in.

Skinny legging jeans from American Eagle, silk tanktop from Urban Outfitters, and cardigan from Gap. The tanktop is a new purchase which I was quite happy to find. A little difficult to explain, but the pattern found on the bottom of the front part of the top is on the entire back of the top. It's really pretty - I don't think my camera does either the shoes or the top justice. =(

As for updates, hopefully I'll find some motivation to put more posts up.

boots, boots and more boots

I admit it, I'm addicted. Boots just grab my attention when I step into a shoe store. In Montreal, I have 10 pairs if you include booties. Recently, the trend has been going towards over the knee boots or thigh-highs. I realised during Halloween weekend that I did in fact own a pair of over the knee boots, but I never wore them as such. They're from Chinese Laundry and for the last two years, I've simply been wearing them folded down. While the first thought about thigh-high boots may be how they might be slutty - the trend has really grown on me. Thigh-high boots may be a statement but it can be a modest one at that. As seen above from the Who What Wear Daily emails, as long as you pair over the knee boots with more modest garb, you'll have just the right amount of sexiness. I may just find myself buying a new pair of boots.
SIGH - more money going down the drain, at least I'll look good while watching it swirl down into oblivion.

fur

In the midst of procrastination (I have a paper proposal due tomorrow and so far I've written only 100 words), I was reading through some blogs. One blog that I've been following expressed their desire to own a fur coat. Fur, it seems, is popping up everywhere, whether it's real or faux. When I first saw the fur vest, my first thought was "what? really?" But over the last few months, the idea has been catching on. Now, I am contemplating the purchase of one. The reason why I'm hesitating is I have no idea when I would wear it. Perhaps I'm simply not one for taking risks or I'm very conservative but I feel like I would come off as very pretentious or plain silly walking down the streets of Montreal in a fur vest. Funnily (is that a word?) enough, I feel like if I were to be walking down the streets of New York dressed exactly the same way I wouldn't feel the same way. Should I take the leap? Be daring? Hm, I must contemplate that.
Now...off to work on that darn paper proposal.

its been a while

Well, Halloween has come and gone. I, unfortunately, didn't do much. I suppose now I regret not taking advantage of the one night where you can walk around a city dressed up (or in some cases, barely dressed) in whatever you want. On Friday, I was planning on dressing up as a grecian goddess - but I ended up opting out of a party and staying at home talking to my best friend on skype. Perhaps, one day - soon, so it won't seem like I randomly get in costumes and prance around in my apartment - I will just do it so that I can post the look up and show everybody that I do, in fact, possess some level of creativity. On Saturday, some friends and I headed to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was my first time going and I was thoroughly entertained, albeit somewhat lost and confused. Of course, going to the Rocky Horror Show meant that I should be dressing up in my sluttiest gear - that didn't happen. I made a very lame attempt in a slip that I layered over a bustier and tights believing that few were actually going to go all the way. I was wrong and completely missed my chance to walk around in just underwear. However, now that I think about it - that may have been a good thing. Perhaps I will post that look up as well. As winter is fast approaching, I'm trying to come up with pretty, pretty outfits that still keep me warm. I suppose I will have to rely a lot on my (approximate) 7 pairs of boots and lots and lots of tights and socks.

Looks coming up soon...I HOPE!
